Guyana

Missions at Beloved is who we are, not what we do. We are not into religious tourism, selecting a different location every few years. Nor do we do missions for the primary benefit of our church. We have no intention of doing good deeds for the photo-opp or the yearly mission's presentation before the congregation. Marginalized people groups know when they are being used as a means to our own religious end. Such self-serving endeavours bring suspicion and shame to the Name of Jesus. 

At Beloved, we treasure relationships above all else. We primarily desire an authentic relationship with God, followed by relational intimacy with the communities we serve on the mission field. For this reason, we plant ourselves in one specific location with the sole intention of participating in long term relationships. Consequently, we have been connected to a single missionary commitment in the Amazon region of Guyana for approximately 25 years. We visit our overseas family multiple times per year in smaller teams and have an annual summer mission trip with a much larger group. We do not have a mission's project, because people are not projects. We have a church family in Guyana who are part of the Beloved, just as we are. This is a commitment we take seriously, because Christ is serious about loving His church.
